All back issues are available except for eight issues missing from sets of volumes 41-56 (1962-1977). You will be charged only for issues received.

Prices of Back Issues
Volumes 57-82 (1978-2003) regular price $2,080.00, library sale price $416.00; volumes 41-56 (1962-1977) regular price $1,280.00, library sale price $256.00; cumulative index (1922-1972) $20.00, supplementary index (1972-1980) $20.00. Libraries having some back issues may order selected issues at the above sale prices with a 3-year subscription at $234.00. A 3-year subscription must be placed with any library back-issue order.

Journal Purpose

Social Forces is a renowned journal of social research highlighting sociological inquiry but also exploring realms shared with social psychology, anthropology, political science, history, and economics. Each issue usually includes 11 to 14 articles and 15 to 30 full book reviews. Social Forces is widely circulated in the United States and in more than 80 foreign countries.
